Hi my name is Elisabeth Lopez aka Liz. I am 15 years living in Manhattan, New York. I have a mom and 7 brothers and sisters - 2 from my mom's side and the rest from my dad's. Basically I have a big family. I'm very short and I don't look 15, but I learn to not let that effect me anymore. I go to New Design High School and have made fantastic friends who are crazy lol. I'm very different from the rest of my family. Im not only spanish, but I'm japanese too. I'm a bubbly happy person almost always. I love video games and watching anime (my favorite is Toradora) and I don't really follow my big sister's path since my mom always wanted me to be just like her even though she is an awesome big sister. I love playing basketball, dancing, singing and my favorite thing is to edit anime videos and put it on youtube (once in awhile I create dub videos of me and my friends). For my future I hope to grow up to be an editor for a company or be able to travel to either Japan or South Korea. Maybe I could even live there one day, but for now I'm just going to keep practicing my editing skills and hope I get into a good college.
Rosa Melenciano is a Senior at New Design High School in the lower east side of Manhattan. She was born in the Bronx, New York, but grew up in Manhattan. Being Dominican she is bilingual, growing up listening to her mother speak spanish and traveling to the Dominican Republic to visit her dad, brother and family, that was her first language. When she started school, she started learning english. Her favorite subjects in school are English, Theatre, and History. She has an interest in photography and performing arts. She’s interested in acting because she got a chance to do two plays in her Sophomore and Junior year and grew an interest for it, also as a kid watching movies, plays, and shows made her have an interest in how it is behind the scenes and actually playing roles in movies/shows/or plays. She’s interested in dancing because she started dancing when she was four years old, unprofessionally. She’s interested in learning different types of dancing such as: Ballet,Tap dancing, Hip Hop etc. She’s interested in photography because she likes capturing memories that can be looked back on, when one looks at the picture, one will remember that day like it was yesterday. “A picture speaks a thousand words”. She also likes to try and learn new things. In her leisure time her favorite thing to do is: read, hangout, sleep, dance, play volleyball and/or any other sport, watch TV and use the computer; using websites: Twitter, Tumblr, Youtube, and Facebook, also exploring the web. She likes to play instruments whenever she has time to or gets her hands on an instrument; Being that she used to experience different instruments as a kid, in elementary and middle school. She likes helping other people by giving advice to her friends when they need it, and she likes to be there for them because she’s a nice and generous girl. Her goal in life is to finish college and have a great career that pays well to support her family and herself as an independent woman.
I am Isaiah J. Ortiz. I was born in Manhattan, on the west side I believe, and I still live in manhattan to this day. I am in 12th grade. My interests are poetry, writing, reading, working out, fighting, dancing in different styles I could learn if anyones willing to teach me and track. I don't dwell on such things as hopes and dreams. My Goal is to become an Astronomer. I love studying the stars but because I live in the city, I can only see them in books and tv. I attend a art and design school called New Design.
Taliek Weeks lives in Brooklyn, NY with his mom, step father, little sister and his baby brothers. He goes to New Design High school in Manhattan and he's in the 10th grade. He wants to be a pro graffiti artist when he get older and he heard that New Design high school had some great graffiti legends come from all over the world to participate in an event they have called "Rooftop Legends" and that some of their staff also knew how to do graffiti so he applied for the school and they accepted him. He was very happy when he got the letter saying that he has been accepted to NDHS because it was the school he wanted to go to.
Now, he cannot only learn how to draw his graffiti better, but he can also work on other types of art like media, painting, crafting and etc. He hopes that his journey at NDHS will be successful and that he will finish high school and not become a drop out. He also hopes that he will be leaving NDHS with the honor of saying that he was a graduate of the class of 2015.
In my film class we are going to make a film that tells more about my life. Stay tuned...
